At the end of the spring term, Karlstad Student Union took the opportunity to surprise some members of the teaching staff that students wished to pay special tribute to. "Celebrate a teacher" was the name of the campaign running during the spring semester and on 19 June the result was announced on the student union Instagram.
Individual students as well as societies had been invited to nominate candidates via videos published on the student union Instagram. Two of the four teachers who received flowers and congratulations shortly before Midsummer were Business School staff: Charlotte Hemmingson, business administration and och Niklas Jakobsson, economics.
"I was overjoyed to hear that my work is appreciated and this tribute means that I will make even greater efforts to be a good teacher!" says a happy Charlotte Hemmingson.
"It was really terrific!" says Niklas Jakobsson.
The two other celebrated teachers at the university were Martin Blom, computer science, Dept. of Mathematics and Computer Science, and Marie Tåqvist, English, Dept. of Language, Literature and Intercultural Studies.
"We want to convey our thanks for your enthusiasm in teaching and inspiring students at Karlstad University", as the card read from the Karlstad Student Union.
