Researchers in Computer Science received best paper award
2024-12-02Giuseppe Caso, Mohammad Rajiullah, and Anna Brunstrom, members of the Distributed Intelligent Systems and Communications (DISCO) group of the Computer Science Department, won the Best Paper Award at the 2024 IEEE Conference on Standards for Communications and Networking (IEEE CSCN’24).
The conference was held in Belgrade on November 25-27 with a large participation from academia and industry sectors.
“Our paper, A Standard-compliant Assessment of Beyond-eMBB QoS/QoE in 5G Networks, provides a detailed analysis of a standardized methodology for evaluating Quality of Service and Experience of real-time interactive services on 5G and Beyond-5G networks. To do so, we performed a large-scale measurement campaign on two 5G networks in Sweden and analyzed the collected data,” says Giuseppe Caso, Senior Lecturer in Computer Science, who presented the paper during the conference.
“The results showcase how the methodology captures heterogeneous service characteristics and requirements and paves the way for accurate analyses of services on mobile networks,” continues Giuseppe Caso.
This award reflects multi-year efforts from a research team including members from Karlstad University, Sapienza University of Rome, University of Oslo, and Rohde & Schwarz.
