The module deals with Spanish grammar, morphology and syntax. Instruction is based on current rsearch in these areas. The module includes methods for teaching grammar in secondary education and assignments which prepare students for their future task of developing language awareness and skills in the classroom. Introduction to the history of the Spanish languiage is give.
Module 2 Spanish-speaking literarary history and theory, history and culture and teaching methodology
The module combines further studies of literature with an introduction to critical theory. Students develop their understanding of the meaning and function, historicity and context of literary texts and of reading processes through close readings and theoretical applications. The application of literary theory in teaching is also treated.
Students analyse and interpret literary works from the 16th, 20th and 21st centuries from different critical perspectives. Historical and cultural event in the history of Spain from the 15th century till today are described and identified.
Module 3 Independent project 15 ECTS cr
An independent investigation of a limited area in Spanish linguistics, literature and teaching methodology is presented in an essay and discussed in seminar.
