School as System and Idea - Music Education
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course centres on descriptions and problematisations of the following aspects of secondary education education:
- the political governance of education at different levels, for instance, with regard to the supporing and controlling functions of the National Agency for Education and the School Inspection,
- the organisation of the school system in Sweden and other countries,
- education regulations with a special emphasis on core values in relation to international agreements on human rights and children's rights
- the modern history of the Swedish school with glimpses of the early history and related to the diversity issues of class and gender,
- the emergence and development of the music pedagogy field.

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
