Organizing, interaction and society
7.5 ECTS creditsThe Simmelean perspective on organising is presented. For the purpose of making empirical connections to the theoretical frames, three central sociological field studies are studied: Foot Whyte's, Street Corner Society, Moss Kanter's Men and Women of the Corporation and Jackall's Moral Maze: The world of corporate managers. The point is to show how Simmel's theories can be used in different empirical fields. Students find their own examples and apply sociological organisation theory.
