Research
My Phd project is focused on the discursive conceptualizations of democracy, within the school subject of samhällskunskap (social studies/science). My work belongs to the research subject of social studies didactics in the german/nordic sense of the term, and i belong to the acadmic institution of Educational Work.
The project contains different substudies where the first focuses on the conceptualization of democracy within the field of political science in Sweden. This is done polemically or in contrast to the conceptualization earlier research has shown to exist in swedish social studies textbooks.
Future parts of the project will be focused and located in swedish social studies classrooms, where results of the earlier results will be implementet through game-based learning in an attempt to 'deepen' students understanding of democracy.
