Program Mission and Goals
Mission:
Our research collaboration aims to advance the understanding of the complex relationship between climate change and human health and to identify effective strategies to mitigate and adapt to the health impacts of climate change. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, we strive to produce rigorous, innovative research that can inform policy, practice, and public awareness about the critical need to address climate change and its impact on health.
Goals:
- To investigate the direct and indirect health effects of climate change on vulnerable populations, including the impacts of extreme weather events, air and water pollution, and infectious diseases;
- To identify and evaluate interventions and policies that can reduce the health risks of climate change and promote sustainable and equitable development;
- To enhance scientific understanding of the biological, social, and economic mechanisms that link climate change and health;
- To develop new methods for modeling and predicting future impacts;
- To engage with policymakers, practitioners, and the public to raise awareness about the health implications of climate change and to promote evidence-based decision-making; and
- To build interdisciplinary and international research networks and foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers, stakeholders, and communities.
