Activity-Based Chemistry
15.0 ECTS creditsStudents suggest a host workplace as they apply to the course. The host workplace and placement supervisor must be approved by the course examiner before the course starts. The course begins with a mandatory introduction period of one to two weeks at Karlstad University, including preparation for the practical placement. The practical placement comprises seven or eight weeks in a workplace, where students complete at least one independent task which requires them to apply their knowledge of chemistry. If applicable, a risk analysis is carried out in relation to a work task chosen in consultation with the placement supervisor and the examiner. The course is concluded with a week at Karlstad University, where students are responsible for conducting seminars. Throughout the course, students write a diary in which they describe and reflect upon what they have done and what has happened during the practical placement period.

Registered on 60 ECTS credits in Chemistry, with at least 30 ECTS credits completed, or equivalent
