This can be achieved, among other things, by affiliating well-established researchers with subjects and research centers at the university, without formal employment, through appointment as an affiliated researcher. The purpose of affiliating researchers is to contribute to stronger research environments, benefiting both the university and the affiliated researcher.

Studies have shown that the best way to become integrated in a new country, apart from learning the language, is to create a social life and take part in social activities. Employees at the various departments usually arrange most of the social activities at the University. The University also arranges activities  for all employees, for example, an annual staff party. We also have cooperation with an organisation called Ny i Värmland (New in Värmland).

SACO Saco, the Swedish Confederation of Professional Associations, consists of 23 independent labour unions that all have a membership comprising qualified professionals.
The programme has been redesigned  with two semesters of in-depth study in an elective subject  and with a clearer focus on cultural policy and conservation. Why? The Culture, Policy and Management Programme is based on Cultural Studies generally, with a focus on cultural policy and cultural heritage.
