Despite the huge success of cellular networks and the Long Term Evolution (LTE), there are challenges ahead. The performance requirements of LTE yield massive signaling traffic, imposing further demands on already strained networks [36]. In an effort to manage the growing volume of data in cellular networks, there has been an increasing interest in deploying relays, distributed antennas, and smallcell access points (e.g., pico- and femtocells) in residential areas, subways and offices.
With support from the Ander Foundation, the Service Research Center (CTF) is happy to welcome Pascal Le Masson as a visiting professor. Pascal Le Masson is a professor at the Mines de Paris Research University, and has a distinguished background in design-oriented management and innovation.

2024-12-04 Cyber resilience: Study visit from south-east Finland
The project team for A Cyber Resilient Kymenlaakso from South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Kaakkois-Suomen ammattikorkeakoulu – Xamk.fi) visited INCREDILAB, the Pilot study on computer games, and RiskLab. Marie Skavø-Sinisalo and her colleagues explained the interest in having micro companies becoming cyber secure.

Making research and science useful (4.5 credits) is a doctoral course that deals with how knowledge from your research can be useful for society, business and academia.
The findings, experiences, and ideas that emerge from research have traditionally been utilised through academic publication and teaching programmes. However, academic impact alone is no longer enough for a successful research career.

The "forgotten" asylum seekers from Afghanistan
– A study on inclusion and exclusion processes affecting young Hazara refugees in Sweden.
This project is a collaboration between Martin Joormann (Associate Professor in Social Work at KAU) and Anna Lundberg (Professor in Sociology of Law at LU). The project aims to conduct a joint analysis of previously collected data, supplement it with additional data in the form of public documentation, and publish a scientific article.
