The Holidays are approaching, and another research year is coming to an end. When I look back at 2018 I feel very proud. During the year, we had five PhD defenses, which is eight in total if we also count 2017. It is a clear indication that CTF is an academic environment to count on. We have hosted several events, for example the Service-Dominant Logic Day, and the conferences: Nordic Relationship Dynamics and Service Convention Sweden 2018.

Experts who are open to change view ideas as opportunities and approach idea screening as a generative process, while conservative experts are more reserved in their idea screening activities. These are the findings of a new study where researchers at CTF, Service Research Center at Karlstad University, have examined how a person’s sense of identity influences the way in which they screen early ideas for innovation projects.

This shift opens up questions about how we might design our "systemic-self" and what new approaches we need to do so. In service design, there is often a focus on mapping the service systems we wish to change. We create personas, draw user journeys and plot out the different stakeholders.
